New Delhi: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina warns the perpetrators of communal violence and said that anyone involved in instigating attacks on Hindu temples and Durga Puja venues in Cumilla will not be spared irrespective of which religion they belong to.

"The incidents in Cumilla are being thoroughly investigated. Nobody will be spared. It doesn't matter which religion they belong to. They will be hunted down and punished," Hasina was quoted by Dhaka Tribune in its report.

On the occasion of Durga Puja, PM Hasina addressed the people of the Hindu community and exchanged greetings for the auspicious event at Dhakeshwari National Temple in Dhaka. As per the ANI report, she joined the programme via virtual conference.

While referring to the recent incidents of vandalizing Hindu temples in Cumilla as "very unfortunate," PM Hasina in her address said that the perpetrators behind such crime are the ones who are not able to win the trust and confidence of the people and thus these group of individuals belongs to no ideology.

"We are getting a large amount of information. We will definitely trace those who carried out the attacks... This is the age of technology," she was quoted by ANI in its report.

"They must be found. We did so in the past and will do it in the future, too. They must face due punishment. Exemplary punishment will be given so that none can dare to engage in this type of incident in future," she added.

PM further said that irrespective of caste, creed, or religion people in Bangladesh celebrates every festival together. She further asks everyone to work in unity in order to stop such heinous occurrences.
