New Delhi: A woman who was trying to hand-feed shark had a dreadful encounter with it as the creature pulled her inside water in northwestern Australia.

The more frightening fact was that the water was infested by crocodiles.

The woman Melissa Brunning, was attempting to feed the shark when the shark bit her finger.

As per reports, the woman was on a Yacht in the remote Kimberley region some 2,500 kilometres (1,553 miles) north of Perth. She tried to hand-feed four sharks who were hanging around the back of the boat.

The shark was about 6.6 foot long and it sucked at her right index finger like a vacuum cleaner,  as she described it.

In the footage of the video aired by a commercial channel, the lady could be seen screaming as she was dragged into the water. The crew members then quickly pulled her out.

She has denied calling the incident a shark-attack and has asserted that it was just her doing a silly thing and suffering a consequence.

Melissa shared a footage of a channel which broadcast the incident.

Later she was quoted by AFP saying that she should not have tried to hand-feed the shark, instead she should have seen it from a distance. She said she realized that when one is in water, marine creatures are on the top of the food chain and it is their domain. One should respect marine life, she said.

She described it as a hair-raising moment on her Instagram account.
