India reacted to Imran Khan’s statement about the death of seven civilians in Pulwama, which came on Sunday. Khan had condemned the deaths and had said that he will raise the issue at the UN.
When questioned about Khan’s remarks, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said “I think it will be better if they mind their own business and look at the internal affairs which are in a mess.”
He also slammed Pakistan for taking no action against terror groups operating from its soil. He said that the statements coming from its side demonstrate its "insincerity and duplicity".
On Saturday seven civilians had died when the security forces opened fire at an unruly mob that had gathered at the site of an encounter in South Kashmir's Pulwama district.
"We have been demanding that stop allowing your territory to be used for terror groups and terrorists who are operating from your soil. No action is being taken against them," he said.
He said the country must take action against terror groups operating from its soil instead of commenting on India's internal affairs.
Earlier in the day, India strongly rejected Pakistan's claim of ownership of the Jinnah House in Mumbai and said the property belongs to it. "Pakistan has no locus standi as far as this property is concerned. It is a government of India's property and we are in the process of renovating it," Raveesh Kumar said.
