New Delhi: Days after the deadly terror attack at New Zealand mosque which killed 50 people, an alleged arson took place at a Southern California mosque with a note having reference of the Christchurch attack.


As per reports, a fire broke out in the mosque of Southern California on Sunday and  a mysterious note was found in the parking lot , referencing to the shootings this month that killed 50 people at mosques in the city of Christchurch.

Reports said that nobody was hurt, and members of the Islamic Center of Escondido were able to extinguish the small blaze before firefighters.  Seven people were present inside the mosque at the time the fire broke out. People were able to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher.

The incident was being investigated as arson and a possible hate crime, said police in the city about 48 kilometers north of downtown San Diego. Any information about the suspect has not been revealed yet.
