Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday visited the Gaza Strip, receiving security briefings, interacting with soldiers, and inspecting one of the revealed tunnels. According to the Israeli Prime Minister's Office (PMO), he stressed that the country's operations against Hamas will continue until victory.


Addressing the soldiers, Netanyahu highlighted the three goals of the war: "Eliminate Hamas, return all of our hostages, and ensure that Gaza will not go back to being a threat to the State of Israel." He pledged relentless efforts to retrieve hostages, asserting, "I am here to tell the soldiers... We are continuing until the end – until victory."



"Nothing will stop us, and we are convinced that we have the force, the strength, the will and the determination to achieve all of our goals for the war, and this is what we will do," he said, as per the Israeli PMO.


Netanyahu, during discussions with IDF Deputy Chief of Staff and commanders, referenced a wall inscription, "Am Israel Chai" meaning 'The People of Israel Live'. He thanked the soldiers for their dedication, stating, "Am Yisrael Chai, and the people of Israel will also win thanks to you."



4-Year-Old US Citizen Among Hostages Released By Hamas, Biden Hopes For Truce Extension


In a significant development, the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas progressed with the release of 17 hostages, including 14 Israelis and the first American, under a four-day truce. Red Cross representatives facilitated the transfer, with some hostages handed directly to Israel and others exiting through Egypt.


According to AFP, the released hostages ranged from 4 to 84 years, including 4-year-old Abigail Edan, orphaned in a Hamas attack. Notably, the U.S. identified Abigail as the first American hostage freed. President Biden confirmed her release, expressing hope for an extended Israel-Hamas pause "beyond tomorrow", news agency AFP reported.


Separately, Hamas released a Russian hostage as a gesture of appreciation for Russia's stance on the conflict. Israeli army radio earlier reported the individual as an Israeli-Russian dual national.
