Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's Hebrew-language X account was suspended a day after it was opened, for ‘violating’ the social media platform’s rules.
The note on @Khamenei_Heb account says it has been suspended for violating X’s rules. This comes after Khamenei on Saturday wrote, “The Zionist regime made a mistake, and made a miscalculation regarding Iran. We will make it understand Iran's power, capability, and resolve.”
According to rules on X, the content is banned from “Violent and hateful entities,” but the guidelines make an exception for posts from “state or governmental entities.” No further comment has been issued by the social media platform on the exact rule violation.
On Sunday Khamenei said that Israel’s airstrikes on Iran should not be magnified nor downplayed. According to CNN, while Israel would like to amplify the impacts of its actions against Iran, Khamenei said, it would also not be right for Iran to dismiss the strikes as insignificant.
“They’re making a miscalculation with respect to Iran. They still haven’t been able to correctly understand the power, capability, ingenuity, and determination of the Iranian people. We need to make them understand these things”, it was published on his website, khamenei.ir.
The Supreme Leader said that those who believe that Iran should avoid producing weapons to avoid backlash are misguided. Adding it that a country would be weak if it doesn’t maintain its own security.
As per CNN, Khamenei condemned Israel’s military offensive in Gaza, and the international; community for allowing them to.
“War operates within a framework of rules, laws, and limitations. These limitations can’t just be disregarded during a war. However, the criminal gang ruling over the occupied lands has trampled all boundaries and rules underfoot,” his website read.
On Saturday, Israel attacked several military targets in Iran in retaliation for the barrage of ballistic missiles the Islamic Republic fired on Israel earlier this month. This was the first time Israel openly attacked Iran. The state-run IRNA news agency reported that 4 people were killed, all military personnel. Iran’s military said the strike targeted military bases in Ilam, Khuzestan and Tehran provinces.
