A group of Hindu Americans led by Vishwa Hindu Parishad organised a mini car and bike rally at a local Hindu temple, Shri Bhakta Anjaneya Temple, in Maryland, Washington to celebrate the upcoming Pran Pratishtha of Ram Mandir in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya. According to news agency ANI, the event took place on a street named the 'Ayodhya Way'.


Many Hindu Americans belonging to different backgrounds and age groups, ranging from 10 years old to over 70 years old joined to celebrate the inauguration of Ram temple, slated to be held in January next year.






One of the organisers of the event, Mahendra Sapa, the President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America DC chapter told ANI that on the occasion of the temple's inauguration, they are organising a historic celebration in the Washington DC area.


"After 500 years of struggle by Hindus, Bhagwan Shri Ram Mandir is being inaugurated. So we are organising a historic celebration of the same in the Washington DC area on January 20, 2024, with about 1000 American Hindu families. The celebration will include Ram Leela, stories of Shri Ram, Hindu prayers to Shri Ram, and Bhajans (devotional songs to Shri Ram and his family)," Sapa said, as reported by news agency PTI.






Another co-organiser, Animesh Shukla told ANI that the celebration will feature a 45-minute enactment of Lord Ram's life which will be played by kids of various ages in a manner that the American kids will understand.


A co-organiser and local Tamil Hindu leader, Premkumar Swaminathan, sang a song in Tamil to praise Lord Ram. He extended an invitation to all families for the January 20 celebration which will take place in the US, and he also invited everyone for the actual inauguration on January 22 which will take place in Ayodhya, as reported by PTI.
