A man from the United States swallowed two pairs of diamond earrings from a Tiffany & Co in at the Mall at Millenia in Orlando on February 26. Jaythan Lawrence Gilder, 32, pretended to be a representative for an Orlando Magic player to get access to the jewellery store where the two earrings were worth over Rs 6.8 crore, according to WFLA.

The suspected thief allegedly fled the store with two sets of earrings—one 4.86-carat set valued at $160,000 (over Rs 1.3 crores) and another 8.10-carat set worth $609,500 (Rs 5.2 crore). In a video from the store, Gilder is seen rushing out after grabbing the earrings.

Later, Gilder was stopped by the Orlando Police Department on Interstate 10 and was charged with resisting arrest. Since they were unable to locate the stolen earrings at first, they charged the accused with theft.
