New Delhi: Elon Musk's transgender daughter wants to do away with the powerful last name in her attempt to distance herself from biological father. Xavier Alexander Musk, born male, has filed to change their name legally to reflect their new gender identity as a female. In a petition she has requested a name change in accordance with her new gender identity and a new birth certificate because "I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form", reported news agency Reuters.
The petition was filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Santa Monica in April. Online publication TMZ reported that Elon Musk’s trans daughter filed documents to change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson a day after her 18th birthday in April. She has asked the court to change her gender recognition and to register her new name, according to court documents available online through PlainSite.org.

She has chosen to keep the last name of her mother Justine Wilson who divorced Musk in 2008. Justine Musk is an author and Elon Musk's first wife. However, there are no details about the rift between Musk's daughter and her father, the Tesla and SpaceX chief who is aiming a $44 billion takeover of social media platform Twitter.
Interestingly, a month after the name and gender change document was filed, Musk extended support for the Republican Party in May, whose elected representatives backed a raft of legislation that would limit transgender rights in states across the country.
It is worth noting that Elon Musk, in July 2020, tweeted “Pronouns suck.” Weighing on the issue of transgender Musk later tweet in December in support of transgender but said, "I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare."
