Six people were killed and one injured in a stabbing incident at a kindergarten in China's south-eastern Guangdong province on Monday, BBC reported. Police said they have arrested a 25-year-old man behind the attack in Lianjiang county, BBC reported.
"The victims include one teacher, two parents and three students. One suspect has been arrested," AFP quoted a spokeswoman for the city government as saying.
Police have called this a case of "intentional assault".
China has recently witnessed a spate of knife attacks, including in several in schools.
In August 2022, three people were killed and six wounded after an assailant stormed a kindergarten in the south-eastern Jiangxi province.
In April 2021, two children died while 16 others were injured during a mass stabbing in Beiliu City, in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. In October 2018, 14 children were injured in a knife attack at a kindergarten in Chongqing, south-west China.
