The shooting outside Dhillon's residence in Colwood, British Columbia occurred in September, shortly after the singer released a music video featuring Bollywood actor Salman Khan, with whom the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has a known rivalry. Two vehicles parked around the singer's house were also torched.
The Lawrence Bishnoi-Rohit Godara gang had claimed responsibility for the shootings and allegedly threatened Dhillon, warning him to “stay within his limits."
