At least 8 people were killed in Upper Kurram Tehsil in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as reported by Geo TV. The victims in the incident included five teachers, distrct administration said on Thursday. The teacher was killed whilst in a moving vehicle, Geo TV reported citing police. This was the first incident in Parachinar, which falls in Upper Kurram and is the capital of Kurram district. The suspects are still absconding and the police has not been able to track them down so far.
An unidentified gunman shot seven people including four teachers in a Government High School’s staffroom in Tari Mangal. According to Geo TV, the teachers were performing their exam duties inside the building. The teacher, who was killed inside the car, was identified as Mohammad Sharif belonged to the same school, the police said.
Three others who were killed in the incident were drivers who brought construction material at the school, Geo TV reported citing district administration. Emergency was imposed in all the hospitals in the area after the shooting incidents. Former Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the incident and said that the criminals involved in the killing of teachers should be brought to justice.
