NEW DELHI: Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who also promoted BMC's drive against open defecation, demanded shifting of a public toilet installed nearby his residence on the Bandstand promenade.

His father, Salim Khan, is also unhappy with location of the public toilet.

"It's not that we are opposing installation of toilet blocks at Bandstand. We support this move. But if the toilet is built in the middle of promenade, there will be a mess and it will create nuisance," PTI quoted Salim Khan as saying.

Salim Khan said it's not his personal matter but around 200 residents have signed objection letter and suggested another location for public toilet.

Veteran actress Waheeda Rehman too has reservations about the facility.

Bandra Bandstand Walkers and Users Forum has lodged a complaint with the civic body regarding the toilet block.

While BMC commissioner said that public toilet is required at that location and it will be constructed, Mumbai mayor seems convinced with Salman's objection to it.
