The previous record was set by the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV that had clocked a time of 7:39 seconds for a lap. The Panamera Turbo comes to life using a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine that belts out 550PS of peak power and a monstrous torque of 770Nm. The power delivery is evenly sent to all the four wheels and the car is mated to an eight-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission.
The car can sprint to the 100kmph mark from halt in a claimed time of 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 306kmph. Porsche has stated that the time can come down to 3.6 seconds, provided one opts for the Sports Chrono package. The Panamera Turbo has attained this milestone by outperforming some of the best all-time supercars – the Ferrari F430 Scuderia and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.
