The UPSC Prelims exam was scheduled to be held on May 31, 2020, however, it has been postponed now. The news brings relief for scores of anxious students who were confused about whether the exams will be held as scheduled.
As per reports, the decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Arvind Saxena on Monday regarding the deferment of the exams with senior UPSC officials.

The Union Public Service Commission will assess the situation and release the dates after the aforementioned dates. The situation will be reviewed again on May 20, 2020, and fresh dates for these examinations shall be notified on the UPSC website in due course.
As and when dates are decided for the deferred examinations, it will be ensured that candidates are given a notice of at least 30 days.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) remain the two major central recruitment agencies of the government.
However, all the UPSC Civil Services 2020 aspirants are urged to track the official website of the commission (upsc.gov.in) for the latest updates on the examination.
In order to bring relief to students Union Minister Jitendra Singh in April had assured candidates that sufficient time will be given to candidates while rescheduling the exam so that they do no face time constraint in reaching their exam centre.
