New Delhi: Twenty-eight children fell ill after consuming medication for filariasis at a government primary school in Udwa. They were subsequently admitted to the Community Health Center, where their condition has stabilized. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anshuman Singh attributed the illness to possible side effects of the anti-filaria and deworming tablets, including fever, joint pain, and facial swelling.

However, he assured that the situation is now under control. Girish Kumar, the school's principal, stated that the medication was part of an ongoing campaign to combat filariasis. Kumar said he received information that some children had fever and some had pain in their knees and legs this morning, as per PTI.
