Toyota has added a new premium hatchback to its lineup called the Glanza. It is based on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and is priced from Rs 7.22 lakh to Rs 8.90 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). It is the first outcome of the Suzuki-Toyota deal to cross-badge models. Have a look at the price of all variants of the Glanza below:

It is interesting to note that the base variant of the Glanza (G MT Smart Hybrid) undercuts the Baleno Zeta Smart Hybrid variant by Rs 65,000. All other variants of the Glanza are priced the same as their corresponding Baleno variants.

To differentiate the Glanza from the Baleno, Toyota has given the front grille more chrome. Other than that, the only differentiating elements are the Toyota badges at the front and rear.

The Glanza is offered with the same set of petrol engines as the Baleno. There’s a 1.2-litre motor that makes 83PS of power and 113Nm of torque. This engine is offered in multiple Maruti cars and can be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT. The other engine on offer is Suzuki’s newly developed 1.2-litre petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. It produces 90PS and 113Nm and can only be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Talking of features, the Glanza features the same specifications as the Baleno. They both share the same infotainment system as well. In terms of safety, the Glanza gets dual front airbags and ABS with EBD as standard on all variants.

The warranty package of the Glanza is much better than that of the Baleno (2-year/40,000km). Toyota is offering a 3-year/1,00,000km warranty with the Glanza while roadside assistance is free for the same time period. The Glanza will be manufactured on the same assembly line as the Baleno at Maruti’s factory. However, service and spares will be taken care of by Toyota itself.
