This is the first visit of CM KCR to Delhi after launching BRS after the Election Commission of India (ECI) accepted the request of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to rechristen itself as BRS.

CM KCR had on Friday unfurled the party flag of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) after the Election Commission approved to change the party's name from Telangana Rashtra Samiti to Bharat Rashtra Samiti. Chief Minister KCR hoisted the BRS flag at the Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad. Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and several BRS leaders were present during the official name change event.

As reported earlier, he received a communication from the Election Commission on Thursday approving the change of name of TRS to BRS. In order to broaden its electoral base beyond Telangana, the TRS changed its name to BRS in October but was waiting for an approval from the Election Commission.
