Read the Tata Nexon first drive review here.

Update: The Auto expo is not just an event for launches, but also for concept cars and Tata is not going to fall behind as it comes out with Nexon SUV. The vehicle was also shown at the 2014 Auto Expo and is ready to feature on the Indian roads rivaling names like Mahindra TUV 300, Brezza and Ford EcoSport. The SUV looks quite pleasing from the all the angles and would be running on the same engine as Tata Zica, but with different power output. Check out the unveiling of Tata Nexon at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo.

Tata Nexon was first showcased by Tata at the 2014 Auto Expo. At that time, the subcompact SUVs did not have a flair amongst the masses and hence, Nexon concept went unnoticed by many. But now in 2016, when the sub 4-meter SUV segment has become prominent, all eyes are on Nexon to rival Brezza, TUV300 and EcoSport. This car was earlier spied in December 2015 while being tested and has now again caught the camera. This time, the picture showcases the interiors of the SUV which has an automatic transmission. The production version of the car will most likely make its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The interiors feature a big dashboard, which is dominated by the instrument cluster. The steering and cluster setup is the same one which is employed in the Zica hatchback. The cluster itself is a two dial unit with a rectangular TFT display in the center. Center console layout is very basic and does not look impressive when put against EcoSport, at least in the spy shot variant. Reportedly, the design of production version will be very close to that of the concept. The car will be powered by the Revotron and Revatorq mills from Zica or the 1.3-litre Quadrajet unit from the Zest. Transmission options could include 6-speed manual for the diesel, at the same time petrol is expected to get a 5-speed manual, while Tata may also offer AMT option.

Alongside Tata, Maruti will also unveil its sub 4-meter SUV, Vitara Brezza. The car has been fully unveiled in pictures, today, with the variant-wise specifications. The car features a contrasting roof and will only be available with a diesel engine in India.
