The Swift is amongst Suzuki’s globally acclaimed models. Available globally since November 2004, the Swift nameplate has crossed the 60 lakh sales milestone. India accounts for over 50 per cent of the overall sales of the Swift nameplate and it’s also the birthplace of its compact sedan counterpart, the Dzire

The Swift was Suzuki’s first global strategic model that was produced in India. The first-gen Swift’s production began in May 2005 here, the same month when it was also launched. In fact, Maruti Suzuki was also involved in the development of the first-gen model with Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan. Thanks to its chic styling and long equipment list, the Swift quickly became an aspirational car here like the Honda City. It has been amongst the top three best-selling cars in India ever since. The third-gen model was launched earlier this year and clocks a sale of around 20K units a month.
