Mechanical changes are unlikely on the SP Edition of both the naked Gixxer and the fully-faired Gixxer SF models, as they will likely continue to be powered by the same engines as the standard ones. Currently, they are powered by the 154.9 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine delivering 14.6 bhp of power and 14 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed transmission. The mileage is slightly on the higher side with an average of 64 kmpl, made possible with the use of the Suzuki’s Eco Performance (SEP) technology.
The body paint of the SP Edition looks grey with SP badging around the Gixxer badge on the naked Gixxer and on the front fairing of the SF model. The seats are dual-toned with red and black colors and red reflector pinstripes over the edges, which is also seen around the alloy wheels. There is also a prominent chequered flag for display on the fender.
Other attractive equipment and features are also expected on the new SP Edition, though nothing has been confirmed yet on that front. However, the 266 mm front disc brake and the 240 mm rear disc brakes performing braking duties on both the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF are highly likely to be retained.
