Taking to her official Twitter account, Priyanka re-shared Diljit Dosanjh’s tweet and wrote "Our farmers are India’s Food Soldiers. Their fears need to be allayed. Their hopes need to be met. As a thriving democracy, we must ensure that this crises is resolved sooner than later."
Ranjhana actress Sonam Kapoor too expressed solidarity with the protesting farmers seeking the repealing of the three farm laws. Sonam in her Instagram post shared a series of pictures from the ongoing farmers’ protest along with a quote by Daniel Webster, "When tillage begins, other arts follow. The farmers, therefore, are the founders of human civilization."
Earlier, many other celebrities have also backed the farmers including Riteish Deshmukh, Chitrangda Singh, Hansal Mehta and Anubhav Sinha.
Meanwhile, actor-turned-politician Sunny Deol defended his party saying that he stands with the farmers and that his party will always think about their welfare.
Taking to his official Twitter account, Deol said "I request the whole world that it is a matter between our farmers and the government. Do not come between them, because both will find a way after discussions. I know that many people want to take advantage of the situation and are creating problems. They are not thinking of farmers. They may have their own agenda."
