All variants of the Classic 350 now get a rear disc brake!
Royal Enfield has finally equipped the standard variant of its popular cruiser, the Classic 350, with a rear disc brake. Now, all variants, including the Gunmetal Grey and Redditch Edition, come with rear disc brakes. However, it is only the recently launched Classic 350 Signal Edition which packs a dual-channel ABS. Other bikes in Royal Enfield’s lineup that get the essential safety net include the Himalayan and Classic 500 Stealth Black.
At the launch of the Classic 350 Signals Edition, Rudratej Singh, president of Royal Enfield, confirmed that the company’s entire lineup will soon receive dual-channel ABS. Hence, we believe that the addition of a rear disc brake to the the standard variant of the Classic 350 is to equip it with a dual-channel ABS soon to conform with the government’s new regulation that requires all motorcycles above 125cc to be sold with ABS or CBS starting April 2019.
All variants of the Classic 350 are powered by RE’s 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that generates 20PS @ 5250rpm and 28Nm @ 4000rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The newly launched standard variant with the rear disc brake is available in white, maroon, silver and black, while the Redditch version is available on red, green and blue. The standard variant is priced at Rs 1.75 lakh on road, Pune (Rs 1.47 lakh ex-showroom + Rs 18,617 RTO + Rs 9,434 insurance). The ex-showroom price is inclusive of a 5-year warranty and zero depreciation, which is applicable for the 1st year. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 can be booked for Rs 5,000 and will be delivered to customers within with three to four days, post clearance of full payment. Select dealers are also offering complimentary a Roadside Assistance (RSA) package that’s valid for one year.
