Bharatiya Janata Party MP Ram Swaroop Sharma died in Delhi on Wednesday morning. The 62-year-old was suffering from severe depression and was under treatment for the last six months.
Early reports suggest the veteran leader from Himachal allegedly committed suicide though the actual cause of death remains uncertain.

News agency ANI reported that the BJP MP from Mandi was found hanging at his Gomti Apartments in Delhi on Wednesday morning. As per the latest updates, the body of BJP MP is being brought out of his residence and taken to the hospital for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party upon learning Sharma's demise, cancelled the Parliamentary Party meeting which was scheduled for this morning.
Born in 1958 in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district, Sharma is survived by his wife and three sons. He was first elected to Parliament in 2014, and then re-elected from the same seat in the 2019 general elections.
During his active year of career, Sharma served as Member of the Standing Committee on External Affairs and the Consultative Committee, Ministry of External Affairs.
