Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not address the nation on Monday, sources said amid buzz that there was a big announcement likely to be expected. He was earlier expected to address the nation on Monday evening.

As per sources, the announcement is not likely linked with CAA notification.

Minutes before the scheduled announcement, PM Narendra Modi posted on X, "Proud of our DRDO scientists for Mission Divyastra, the first flight test of indigenously developed Agni-5 missile with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology."

The reaction came after India on Monday successfully carried out the first flight test of the indigenously developed Agni-5 missile with multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicle (MIRV) under its 'Mission Divyastra', joining a select group of nations having such a capability.

PM Narendra Modi and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the scientists of the Defence Research and Development Organisation for the successful launch on Monday.
