Opposition Floor Leaders from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to meet tomorrow in Parliament at 10 am at Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge's office to chalk out the strategy for the ongoing winter session of the Parliament, ANI reported.
New Delhi (ANI): Ahead of the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, Congress names Party's state chief Navjot Singh Sidhu as the chairman of its Pradesh Election Committee. As per the release issued by All India Congress Committee General Secretary KC Venugopal, the committee includes Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and all the ministers in his government. The committee also includes Ambika Soni, Sunil Jakhar, Pratap Singh Bajwa, All MPs from Punjab, All ministers in the state government of Punjab, among other members.
Earlier, Congress has declared AICC general secretary Ajay Maken chairman of the screening committee for upcoming Punjab polls. Ambika Soni has been appointed as the chairperson of the Election Coordination Committee. Pratap Singh Bajwa has been appointed as the Manifesto Committee chairperson and Sunil Jhakar is the new Election Campaign Committee chairperson for Punjab. Assembly poll in Punjab is scheduled to be held early next year. (ANI)

PM Modi also appreciated Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath under whose guidance the project was completed in its scheduled time. He also congratulated the artisans, civil engineers, and families who had their homes there on the successful completion of Kashi Vishwanath Dham Phase 1.
PM Modi then expressed his gratitude to every laborer who worked day and night even during the time when the country battled with Covid to construct the grand complex. The labourers did not stop their work during the unprecedented time and completed the project with dedication. PM said, "I have just had the privilege of meeting these labor colleagues and taking their blessings."
After inaugurating the corridor, PM Modi said that today, a new chapter is being written in the history of Kashi Vishwanath. Kashi Vishwanath Dham premises is not just a grand 'bhavan' but a symbol of India's 'Sanatan' culture & traditions. PM said that here one can witness how inspirations of the ancient are giving direction to the future.
PM Modi started his speech with the chants of 'Har Har Mahadev' and said, "Kashi is Kashi! Kashi is imperishable. There is only one government in Kashi, those who have damru in their hands have their government."

All the primary and secondary contacts of the person, who tested positive for Omicron variant, have tested negative for Covid-19, sources in the health department stated on Monday.
The third Omicron positive patient had come with a negative RT-PCR report from South Africa on December 1. He was also tested negative in Covid-19 test at the KempeGowda International Airport (KIAL) in Bengaluru.
However, after reaching home he developed Covid symptoms; he voluntarily went to the lab for swab tests. The tests confirmed Covid-19 infection in him. Since he arrived from a high risk nation, authorities sent his swab samples for genomic sequencing tests.
He had been admitted to the designated hospital and was being treated for the Omicron variant. Sources explain that he is now asymptomatic and responding well to the treatment. His health condition is also stable.
The authorities tracked all five primary contacts and 15 secondary contacts of the Omicron variant positive patient. All are asymptomatic and healthy. All of them have tested negative in Covid-19 tests, bringing much relief to the authorities.

Two forest guards were arrested after a toddler was killed and her mother injured as they opened fire as part of their efforts to push back a herd of wild elephants to the forest in Assam's Kamrup (Rural) district, officials said on Sunday.
Officials said that the forest personnel, seeking to repel a herd of elephants, fired shots in the air, but accidentally two bullets hit two-year-old Arbi Daimary and her mother Malobika Daimary at Bondapara area in Kamrup (Rural) on Saturday.
The child subsequently succumbed to her injuries and the woman is now under treatment at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.

"For the mega opening ceremony, decoration work from Jalasen Ghat to Mandir Chowk and Kashi Vishwanath temple premises is underway," he added.
Regarding the project, Agrawal said that the Board will finally take over the KVD shrine area after completion of both phases of the project.
Board Secretary Sunil Verma said that many technicalities are involved in the process of taking over of the project from the construction agency, as each and every building and construction would be checked for specified standards.

The biggest story of the day is that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project today, surrounding the Kashi Vishwanath temple near Dashashwamedh Ghat in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi.
PM Modi will inaugurate the first phase of 'Kashi Vishwanath Dham' corridor constructed at a cost of around Rs 339 crore today.
Appealing to people to join the programme, Modi on Sunday tweeted: "Tomorrow, 13th December is a landmark day. At a special programme in Kashi, the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham project will be inaugurated. This will add to Kashi's spiritual vibrancy. I would urge you all to join tomorrow's programme."
As per the PMO, a total of 23 buildings will be inaugurated in the phase 1 of the project. They will provide a variety of facilities to the pilgrims visiting Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, including Yatri Suvidha Kendras, Tourist Facilitation Centre, Vedic Kendra, Mumukshu Bhavan, Bhogshala, City Museum, Viewing Gallery, Food Court, among others.
"The project involved purchase and acquisitions of more than 300 properties around Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. The Prime Minister's vision to take everyone along was the principle based on which mutual negotiations were done for these acquisitions. In this endeavour, the rehabilitation of around 1,400 shopkeepers, tenants and homeowners were done amicably," the PMO said.
It claimed that the testimony of the success is the fact that there is no litigation pending in any court of the country regarding acquisitions or rehabilitation related to the development of the project.
