The NissanConnect platform is free for new Nissan buyers but costs Rs 15,000 for existing owners

Nissan has updated its NissanConnect connected car platform available on the Terrano, Sunny and Micra. NissanConnect is an integrated information and communication platform that helps owners stay connected with their cars remotely. It includes a SIM, installed in the car, which helps it communicate with a smartphone app -- NissanConnect.

Nissan launched the NissanConnect platform in 2017 with over 50 features like sending out notifications about the car's health or if it overspeeds, for instance. It also had features like car tracking and curfew alerts (sends out a notification when the car is driven beyond a preset restricted time).

And now, the carmaker has added 18 new features to the package and it’s still available free of cost for 3 years with each of the three Nissan cars in India. Existing owners can also opt for NissanConnect at a cost of Rs 15,000.

Features like geo fencing, various safety alerts and track & trace are particularly useful for those who’re either chauffeur-driven or have bought a car for family use as it will help them monitor the whereabouts of the car and how it’s being driven. On the other hand, features like idling run time, smart drive score and route guidance can be useful for those who drive themselves. Some other key features of the NissanConnect are mentioned below.
