Farmer Protest: The farmers' agitation over agricultural laws and other demands is now over. National Highway 24 was closed due to the farmers' movement and people had to wait longer to use it again. But the NH 24 will not open for ordinary citizens right now. It may take another 15 to 20 days for the highway to resume completely.

In fact, the place where farmers were sitting on NH-24 has not been inspected for more than a year. There have also been cracks on the flyover, which are yet to be repaired. After the farmers leave, the area will be taken over by the police first and then officers and staff of the National Highway Authority of India who will inspect, rectify and repair the road wherever necessary. Traffic will be resumed on this route only once everything is inspected and found satisfactory.

Experts will soon make their report on highways. Arvind Kumar, Project Director, NHAI said, "Now after the farmers leave, we will inspect the place, after that repairing is also to be done, National Highway experts will go and check and make a report."

Tikri Border has been opened-

Arvind Kumar said, “After looking at the condition of the highway we will be able to tell as to when the road would reopen. It is estimated that the road will reopen only after 15-20 days. When all the loopholes are fixed, it will be opened for the public." It may be noted that the Tikri border was also closed because of the farmers' movement. However, the Tikri border was reopened a day after the farmers' movement ended.
