Maruti Suzuki’s premium MPV, the XL6, has been launched in the country with prices starting from Rs 9.80 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It is available in two variants - Zeta and Alpha - both of which get the option of a manual or an automatic transmission. The XL6 will be the first MPV to be sold through Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa showrooms. Take a look at the prices of each variant below.

The XL6 is a more premium version of the Ertiga. It borrows the latter’s BS6-compliant 1.5-litre petrol engine that is mated to a mild-hybrid system. However, the XL6 will not get a diesel engine option. The 1.5-litre petrol engine makes 105PS and 138Nm. Both variants of the XL6 come with the option of a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Up front, the XL6 gets premium treatment in the form of auto LED headlights with DRLs and LED fog lamps. The redesigned front fascia gives it a more rugged look over the Ertiga. Inside, the XL6 comes with captain seats in the second row as standard across both variants. The use of leatherette upholstery inside the all-black cabin gives it a premium look.

The redesigned front-end and additional body cladding helps the XL6 differ in size from the Ertiga. Take a look at the differences below.

The Zeta and Alpha variants of the XL6 are based on the ZXi and ZXi+ trims of the Ertiga, respectively. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with hill hold (only on automatic variants), ISOFIX child seat mounts and front seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters.

The Maruti Suzuki XL6 does not have any direct rivals but it competes with some variants of diesel-only MPVs like Mahindra Marazzo and Renault Lodgy.
