Maruti Suzuki is going to shut all three of its plants in Gurugram, Manesar and Hansalpur (Gujarat) for a week

Waiting periods for Maruti Suzuki cars are likely to increase further as the company has shut all three of its plants for its routine half-yearly maintenance. The week-long shutdown will halt the production of all the 16 models produced by the company in India which includes the likes of the  Swift, Dzire, Baleno, WagonR, Alto and Vitara Brezza. The effect on waiting periods for different vehicles will vary according to the variants and colours that buyers have opted for. That said, the waiting period is expected to roughly rise by more than a week.

Maruti Suzuki shuts down its production facilities twice a year to conduct routine maintenance checks. Its plants in Gurugram and Manesar have a yearly cumulative vehicle production capacity of 15 lakh cars, while the one in Hansalpur, Gujarat is fairly new and can produce a total of 2.5 lakh units. That gives Maruti Suzuki a combined daily production capacity of nearly 4794 cars on an average.

The current waiting periods for some of the most sought-after Maruti vehicles stand as follows:
