The retro bike manufacturer could come up with a classic, bobber and scrambler model

Iconic bike manufacturer Jawa Motorcycles, which was revived by Mahindra, showcased its all-new 300cc motor on October 11. Later, it announced that its first all-new motorcycle would go on sale on November 15. With just a few days to go for the launch, the retro bike manufacturer has posted illustrations of three different models with the new motor on social media.

Recently, a test mule of the classic variant was spotted testing and we must say it bears a striking resemblance to the Jawa 350 sold in the 70s. Underneath the old school design lies a modern motorcycle with features like rear gas-charged twin shock absorbers and a front disc brake with single-channel ABS. The new 293cc single-cylinder engine gets liquid cooling and makes 27PS and 28Nm. The motor looks properly retro though, with cooling fins on the head and a unique twin exhaust setup similar to the classic Jawa 350.

The other illustration points towards a possible Scrambler version with long travel suspension and a high-set side-mounted exhaust. This one seems to get disc brakes at both wheels and a rear monoshock as opposed to the twin shock absorber setup on the classic model. Other off-road friendly touches include taller handlebars, high windscreen and a flat seat. If launched, expect the scrambler to be priced at a premium over the classic model given the extra equipment on offer.

The third illustration - a Bobber - seems to be the most kitted out of the three. You can make out front upside down forks, twin discs on both wheels, a rear monoshock and a different swingarm. Adding to the authentic Bobber design are the single seat, short fenders and slash cut exhausts. In fact, the bike shown in the sketch looks strikingly similar to the Triumph Bonneville Bobber. It makes sense for the Jawa brand to explore new motorcycle genres using a single 300cc platform as this would help keep costs low and also expose enthusiast to different choices at a relatively small budget. Stay tuned for more information.
