New Delhi: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the government aims to provide a better life to all the people in India including the Muslims and urged the protesters at Shaheen Bagh to not pay heed to the rumours being spread for political gains.

Gadkari while speaking to ABP News at ‘Jan Man Dhan’ conclave made an appeal to the people of Shaheen Bagh to roll back their protest.

“Government has not enacted the Citizenship Amendment Act to snatch anybody’s citizenship. It has been brought about to help those facing persecution in Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Pakistan. I urge the people to not believe the lies being spread about the Act for political gains and I appeal them to end their protest,” Gadkari said.

“People of Shaheen Bagh can meet us for a discussion anytime. The situation has been made tense because of misinformation about the subject,” he said.

Few political parties cannot get votes if they don’t use into this polarisation tactics. The intent of BJP is clear, it wants an inclusive development of the country, he said.

Speaking about abrogation of Article 370, Gadkari said: “Our government has not done anything that is unconstitutional. Today projects worth thousands of crores are taking place in Jammu and Kashmir.”

“The BJP government aims for Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas. The environment of fear is being created to alienate the minorities, but I ask them to have faith in the government. The government is there for their protection,” he said.
