What to expect?
According to the popular leakster Jon Prosser of YouTube channel Front Page Tech, Apple to hold a press release on September 8 at 9:00 EST. Earlier too, he mentioned about the new iPad Air and Apple Watch Series 6 would launch via a press release in the week of September 7.
In another confirmation and as per the claims by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman on micro-blogging site Twitter, the official update is expected on the upcoming event for the iPhone 12 series and Apple Watch Series 6.
It also means that Apple may send out invites for the virtual event this week where it is expected to announce new iPhone models. Moreover, the announcement of iPhone 12 event is most likely to take place today.
Going by the numerous leaks and reports, Apple is expected to announce four new iPhone models - 5.4-inch iPhone 12, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max.
As per the leaks the new iPhone 12 is expected to be packed with a new design, OLED displays, 5G connectivity, updated cameras, enhanced battery life, and more. The new phone is expected to be priced at $649, as per the leaks.
What’s more in store?
The leaks suggest the Apple Watch Series 6 to have feature including sleep tracking, blood oxygen monitoring, better battery life, improved waterproofing, and much more. A cheaper Apple Watch model might be launched along with the Watch Series 6.
Typically, Apple announces and sends invites for an iPhone event two weeks prior to the event. It means if Apple announces the iPhone 12 event on September 8 it may be that the actual event is held around September 22.
In the past few years, it has been observed that Apple has announced new models of iPhones and high-profile devices in the second week of September. However, this time the outbreak of pandemic has hampered the plans. Though the company has confirmed that the iPhone 12 release date won’t come in late September as usual, hinting that the company is likely to hold the event in October.
