Mumbai: “ I always dreamt of getting married and finding a man of my dreams” says 26-year-old Lalita Ben Bansi, who has so far undergone 17 surgeries to treat her ‘deformed’ face after an acid attack.
Lalita, who happens to be an acid attack victim, was attacked by her cousin over a minor quarrel in 2012. The acid attack, which deformed her face completely also killed her hope to live her life further and shattered all her dreams.
“My face was deformed even after so many surgeries; in need for change, I moved from Azamgarh to Kalwa in Thane near Mumbai,” says Lalita.
Little did Lalita know that her life would come back on track miraculously after a wrong number call on her phone.
After two months of knowing Lalita, Ravi fell in love with Lalita and decided to get married to her.
Lalita’s face could be seen all lit-up on her big day.
Narrating her love story, the groom said, “Looks are a matter of time. I have seen gorgeous looking people partying ways after years of marriage. I had always thought I would break the monotony”.
He added saying “I had to only convince my mother to accept my choice. I had to make Lalita believe that she too had the right to a better life.”
Actor Vivek Oberoi was also an attendee at their wedding and promised to finance all the future surgeries of Lalita.
