Poll strategist Prashant Kishor Wednesday said he would withdraw his 'Jan Suraj Abhiyan' and extend support to the "Mahagathbandhan" in Bihar if the Nitish Kumar government succeeded in providing 5 to 10 lakh jobs to the people of the state in next one or two years, reported news agency PTI. Kishor made the statement while addressing his supporters in Samastipur district.
"I will withdraw my 'Jan Suraj Abhiyan' and extend support to the Nitish Kumar government, if five to 10 lakh jobs are provided in the next one to two years," Kishor was quoted as saying by the news agency.
"It has been only three months since I entered the political arena in Bihar, and the politics in the state took a 180-degree turn. The state will witness more political upheavals in the near future," he added.
He also claimed that the RJD-JD(U)-Congress government is not popular with the people of the state.
"Nitish Kumar uses 'Fevicol' (adhesive brand) to stick to the CM's post, while other parties continue to revolve around it," said Kishor during the address, as quoted by PTI.
After coming back to power, the Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav announced to fulfill the promise made of providing 10 lakh jobs by his party during the 2020 Assembly elections.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during his Independence Day address at Gandhi Maidan in Patna also spoke of creating job opportunities for the people of the state.
"We aim to provide jobs to 20 lakh people in government and private sectors of the state. People of the new generation (Tejashwi Yadav) are with us; hence, we will jointly work to provide jobs. Our goal is to place Bihar in the category of developed states."
Prashant Kishor's 'Jan Suraj Abhiyan', announced earlier in the year aims at establish regional connections, find out about problems faced by the people of Bihar, and provide possible solutions to them.
