After the interim report of the Fact-Finding Committee claimed that the Ram Navmi violence were "pre-planned, orchestrated and instigated," West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday accused BJP for deliberately taking out the rally during the time of namaz to incite people, news agency ANI reported. Slamming BJP, CM Banerjee stated: "The incident happened because of BJP... Police have not given permission. In the meeting, they said they will do it in the afternoon but deliberately took out the rally during the time of namaz to incite people."
Questining the intention of BJP behind sending the fact finding committee, CM Banerjee said: "Now that the situation has been bought under control, BJP is sending a fact-finding team to further incite violence... What is the need of a fact-finding team, when normalcy has been restored?"
Earlier today, the six member fact-finding committee submitted their preliminary report on the 'violation of Human Rights during riots on the occasion of Ram Navami in West Bengal.'

This declaration comes after the police prevented a six-member 'fact-finding' delegation from an NGO, led by former Patna High Court Judge L Narasimha Reddy, from visiting the violence-hit districts of Hooghly district on Saturday and Sunday.
Earlier on Thursday, senior BJP leader Locket Chatterjee was stopped from visiting her Hooghly Lok Sabha constituency to attend Hanuman Jayanti celebrations due to prohibitory orders in the area.
Chatterjee sat on demonstration, alleging that she was called an “outsider by the police”.
