New Delhi: West Bengal's Crime Investigation Department (CID) has summoned Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Suvendu Adhikari in connection with the probe in death of one of his bodyguards, a senior official said on Sunday.
He informed that the BJP MLA from Nandigram has been asked to appear before the investigating officers at the CID headquarters at Bhavani Bhawan on Monday.

In 2018, bodyguard Subhabrata Chakraborty allegedly shot himself with his service revolver The CID had constituted a team to investigate the matter. Chakraborty's wife had lodged a complaint with the Kantai police station and demanded an inquiry for her husband's death. The CID has so far questioned more than 15 people, including 11 policemen.
Earlier, the investigating team members had also visited Suvendu's residence 'Shanti Kunj' in the East Midnapore district.
State Armed Police jawan Chakraborty was a part of Suvendu Adhikari's security cover. Even when the then Trinamool Congress MP became a minister in the State Government in 2015, Chakraborty remained in his security squad.
