New Delhi: A short video clip showing BSF jawans celebrating Bihu has gone viral.

The clip, tweeted by the handle of Border Security Force Kashmir, shows the BSF jawans marking the festival by dancing to a folk song in the snow-capped mountains and sub-zero temperature in Kashmir.

"Mountains and mountains of snow, blinding blizzards, freezing temperatures, the stress of 24 hours vigil #LoC , away from homes; this all didn’t deter BSF troops to dance few steps & celebrate #Bihu at FDL in #Keran Sector #ForwardArea," BSF Kashmir tweeted.

The viral video clip, that garnered over 1,400 views, shows one of the BSF jawans donning the traditional gamosa/gamusa, a piece of cloth with a red border on three sides and red woven motifs on the fourth, that is symbolic of the Assamese culture.

The tweet also informed that the BSF troops marked Bihu at Keran sector of Kupwara district in Kashmir braving the freezing temperatures, blizzards and the stress of a 24-hour duty.

This celebration comes only a few days after a video, shared by PRO Udhampur, Ministry of Defence on Twitter, showed the Indian Army soldiers standing in knee-deep snow amid a snowstorm in the forward post of Jammu and Kashmir.

Despite the snowstorm and the biting cold, the jawans stood like a rock while continuing to perform their duty.

Another video tweeted by PRO Udhampur, Ministry of Defence, showed the jawans conducting an emergency evacuation of a pregnant woman from Jammu &Kashmir's Ghaggar Hill village along the LOC in Boniyar Tehsil.

The BSF personnel were reportedly shifting the woman to a primary health care centre in Boniyar amid heavy snowfall.

Heavy snow in Kashmir brings unprecedented challenges for citizens, especially in the higher reaches. “Watch the Soldier & Awam fighting it out together by evacuating a patient to the nearest PHC for medical treatment. #ArmyForAwam," PRO Udhampur wrote.
