Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) leader Sanjay Raut has said that he was tortured in jail, and he would soon meet Prime Minister Modi to apprise him of his experience. “I was tortured in jail. I will soon meet the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Deputy CM of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis to apprise them of my experience and to make them aware of the actions taken against me,” he told ABP News.
Talking about his arrest in the Patra Chawl land scam case, Raut said, “I was arrested illegally. I have no connection with the Patra Chawl case. I welcome court’s decision.” He said, “I was not at fault, I was only put in jail because it was being planned to topple the Maharashtra government.”
He added that a joint parliamentary committee or a panel headed by former CJI UU Lalit should investigate the arrests made by the central agencies in recent years due to political differences. “A joint parliamentary committee, or a panel, headed by former Chief Justice of India UU Lalit, should be set up to probe the arrests made by the central agencies in recent years.”
Sanjay Raut, who recently walked out of jail in the Patra Chawl scam case, said that the opposition will raise this issue in the winter session of the parliament.

Talking exclusively to ABP News, Raut said, “Country is run within the purview of the Constitution, and it is everyone’s responsibility to safeguard it. But in recent times, Constitution is being flouted.” Elaborating on the misuse of law he said, “Both the kidneys of veteran politician Lalu Yadav have failed, and he could be given bail, but law is being misused and many leaders are being put behind bars.”
Sanjay Raut walked out of jail on Wednesday after a Mumbai court granted him bail. The Bombay High Court on Wednesday refused to grant urgent stay on the bail granted to the Shiv Sena MP in the Patra Chawl scam case.
