New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday extended his greetings to India on 75th Republic Day, highlighting that India enjoys a "deserved influence in the international arena" and is playing "an active role" in solving the most important issues on the international agenda.


Congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 75th Republic Day, Putin said that Russia values the "privileged strategic partnership" between both countries, PTI reported citing the state-run TASS news agency.


“We value the privileged strategic partnership between our countries. I am confident that, through joint efforts, we will continue to systematically boost the constructive cooperation between Russia and India across the board,” the Russian leader said in a telegram message.


“This fully meets the interests of our friendly peoples as it in line with strengthening security and stability both regionally and globally,” he added, reported PTI.


According to PTI, Putin said that India has achieved impressive success in the socio-economic sphere, as well as in the fields of research and technology.


“The South Asian country enjoys a deserved influence in the international arena and is playing an active role in solving the most important issues on the international agenda,” the report said, quoting the Russian president. 


Earlier in the day, French President Emmanuel Macron, who is the Chief Guest at this year's Republic Day celebrations, extended his wishes on Republic Day.




Macron took to X and shared a photo of him with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "My dear friend @NarendraModi Indian people, My warmest wishes on your Republic Day. Happy and proud to be with you. Let’s celebrate!" he wrote on X.


Prime Minister Modi also wished the nation on Republic Day. He took to X and said, "Best wishes on special occasion of the 75th Republic Day. Jai Hind!"
