Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat lost the Haridwar (Rural) seat to his BJP rival by 12,000 votes.

Rawat lost to the Bharatiya Janata Party's Yatishwaranand in Haridwar (Rural).

The Chief Minister is also contesting from Kichcha, where too he is trailing.

Uttarkhand went to poll on February 15. There are 70 seats in the assembly. BJP appears to have gained a huge advantage and in all probability will form the government.
