New Delhi: A day after the Central government announced the guidelines for first phase of COVID-19 lockdown exit plan, Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday released a detailed list of what will remain open and closed in the state. According to the official notice issued by the Yogi Adityanath government, COVID19 lockdown will continue till 30th June in the state, however, religious places, hotels, restaurants and shopping malls in non-containment zones have been permitted to reopen from June 8.


Briefing the guidelines, UP Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Awanish Awasthi said that, "all government offices have been permitted to operate with 10o per cent workforce. However, staggered timings will be followed i.e - 9 am to 5 pm, 10 am to 6 pm and 11 am to 7 pm."

"All markets will remain open from 9 am to 9 pm. Supermarkets are allowed to open with conditions of social distancing and other precautionary measures. Weekly markets allowed in rural areas," the official added.

Speaking of the Salons and beauty parlours, the government said the beauty shops are allowed to resume services with the condition of following social distancing norms. Staff at salons, parlours are advised to wear face masks and not use towels, clothes and other fabric equipment more than once. The shops have been advised to use disposable items as much as possible.

Moreover, public transports including autos, E-rikshaws, two-wheelers, roadways buses and city buses have been permitted to run with the condition of following social distancing and thermal screening on bus stands. The government said passengers cannot travel while standing in the bus and will mandatorily wear a face mask while commuting with any public transport. In addition to this, the government has decided to arrange ambulances near bus stands for an emergency.

Earlier in the day, the government of Maharashtra also announced the guidelines to be followed in government offices for the staff, which includes mandatory thermal screening, use of sanitizers and social distancing.

This comes after the Central government on Saturday extended the lockdown till June 30 in containment zones. It also issued new guidelines for phased re-opening of "all activities outside containment zones for the next one month beginning June 1. According to MHA, the country will witness Unlock-1 under which opening of shopping malls, restaurants, and religious places will be allowed in a phased manner.
