New Delhi: After the gruesome beheading of Kanhiyalal at Udaipur, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday condemened the attack and urged people to maintain peace while assuring punishment for those involved in the incident, news agency ANI reported.

Taking to Twitter, CM Gehlot said, "I want to assure you that no criminal will be spared irrespective of any religion or community."

"I condemn the heinous murder of a youth in Udaipur. Strict action will be taken against the criminals involved in this incident. I appeal to everyone to maintain peace and not share the video of the act," Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot had earlier said.

Udaipur Beheading Case

Kanhaiya Lal, a tailor, was decapitated in his shop by two assailants on Tuesday in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

The attackers also videotaped the whole event in which they arrived at the victim's business on Tuesday afternoon in the Dhan Mandi police station area to murder Lal for posting a post praising former BJP politician Nupur Sharma.

Nupur Sharma, a BJP politician, has been removed from the national party after her blasphemous remarks about Prophet Mohammad sparked outrage both domestically and abroad, particularly in West Asian countries.

Riyaz has been recognised as one of Kanhaiya Lal's assailants. According to authorities, he struck Kanhaiya Lal with a sharp-edged instrument while the other videotaped the incident on his cell phone.

They quickly shared a video of themselves confessing to the murder on social media. In a video released while gloating about the beheading, the two men allegedly threatened Prime Minister Modi's life.

Following the death of a man in the city, internet connections in the Udaipur district have been temporarily blocked for the next 24 hours. To keep the calm, 600 police officers have been dispatched to the city.

Locals quickly protested the event, forcing nearby businesses to close. The collector of Udaipur pledged that the government will aid the affected family.
