After, inviting LJP President Chirag Paswan, BJP President JP Nadda has invited Hindustani Awam Morcha President Jitan Ram Manjhi for an NDA meeting on July 18 in Delhi. This comes weeks after former Bihar chief minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in New Delhi and announced his return to the NDA. Manjhi had withdrawn support to the Nitish Kumar-led government in Bihar in June.

"From today, we are an NDA partner. We have agreed to support the NDA and the NDA is also ready to be with us. This is what we discussed today," Manjhi told reporters. Notably, the HAM withdrew support to the Grand Alliance government comprising the Congress, the RJD, and the JD(U) in Bihar on Monday and a letter to the effect was handed over to Governor Rajendra Arlekar.

Manjhi, who met the governor along with his son Santosh Suman, the national president of the HAM, said he will be in Delhi for the next few days during which he will try to meet leaders of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), including Shah, to explore future options, reported PTI.

In the letter, Nadda said, "Your party Hindustani Awam Morcha is an important partner of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). As an important partner of the NDA, you are also a major ally in the journey of service, good governance and poor welfare by the NDA government under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, which accelerates the development of the country."

Nadda, earlier in the day, also invited the National President of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) Chirag Paswan to the July 18 meeting. Nadda wrote a letter to Paswan addressing LJP as 'an important part of the NDA' led by the saffron party. Notably, the announcements come days before the opposition's second mega huddle on July 17 in Bengaluru.
