Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday met with US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who is on a two-and-half-day trip to India.
During the meeting in the national capital, the two held talks focusing on boosting defence and security ties between the US and India. Singh and Gabbard discussed ways to enhance defence and security ties in the meeting, reported PTI quoting its sources.
"Happy to have met the US Director of National Intelligence Ms @TulsiGabbard in New Delhi. We discussed a wide range of issues which include defence and information sharing, aiming to further deepen the India-US partnership," said the Defence Minister on social media.
Gabbard's India visit is a part of her multi-nation trip in the Indo-Pacific region with prior stops in Japan and Thailand besides New Delhi.

NSA Doval Meets Gabbard
On Sunday, the US Intelligence chief and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval held bilateral talks in New Delhi. They also chaired a conclave of top global intelligence officials focusing on ways to boost cooperation in dealing with various security challenges.
During their one-on-one meeting, Doval and Gabbard discussed ways to boost intelligence sharing and working closely in sync with the India-US global strategic partnership, according to a PTI report.
The deliberations were held behind closed doors and there was no official word on them. The US Director of national intelligence and Canadian spy chief Daniel Rogers were among the top global intelligence czars who attended the conclave.
It was a "good discussion", the report stated, quoting sources.
