Reaffirming the government’s commitment to justice, the minister added, “From this platform, I wish to assure that the country's leading investigative agencies are conducting a swift and thorough inquiry into the incident. The findings of the investigation will soon be made public. I want to formally assure the nation that those responsible for this tragedy will be brought to justice and will not be spared under any circumstances.”

High-Level Security Review Led By Amit Shah

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired an emergency security review meeting to assess the situation. The meeting was attended by Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, National Investigation Agency (NIA) Director General Sadanand Vasant Date, and Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golchha. Jammu and Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat joined the session virtually.

Reports suggest that the Red Fort blast could have been a fidayeen-style attack, in which the assailant intended to carry out a suicide operation. Police believe the suspect altered the original plan after learning that a terror module in Faridabad had been busted, opting instead for a high-impact strike to cause maximum casualties and avoid capture.

A probe is underway to find out whether the actual target was elsewhere, as the blast occurred while the car was moving slowly near the Red Fort complex. Officials are examining multiple angles, including potential connections to the terror module intercepted in Faridabad a day earlier.

On Monday morning, Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir Police jointly seized 360 kg of explosive materials and ammunition from a rented house in Faridabad, arresting two suspects, Dr Muzammil and Aadil Rather. Authorities are now tracing whether the confiscated explosives share any chemical or logistical links with the Delhi blast.
