New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday trained its gun against jailed Aam Aadmi Party minister Satyendar Jain after a video of him having served a platter of food and getting a massage in the Tihar Jail surfaced. “Jail meant to house a criminal should be dealt with in a strict manner,” said Union Minister and BJP MP from New Delhi Meenakshi Lekhi.
“There's food being served on a platter, masseur facility is available, it isn't a luxury resort,” Lekhi said.
Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party, Lekhi said, “Those who give character certificates to others have their own character getting exposed.”
A new footage of jailed AAP minister Satyendar Jain came to the fore earlier where he could be seen getting proper meals inside the Tihar Jail, reported news agency ANI. Citing Tihar jail sources, the news agency reported that the jailed minister has gained 8 kilograms of weight, contrary to the claims made by his lawyer that Jain had lost 28 kgs of weight.
The video came at a time when Jain had claimed that he was not getting privileges like proper food and medical check-ups in Tihar jail.

His counsellor, Senior Advocate Rahul Mehra also alleged that the Enforcement Directorate was leaking sensitive information to the media despite the order of the trial court and undertaking given in the court.
A day earlier, another CCTV footage of Jain had surfaced where he was seen getting massage by an inmate, a rape convict.
However, Advocate Zohaib Hossain, appearing for ED, denied the allegations made by Satyendar Jain's lawyer and said that there is not a single leak from the Enforcement Directorate. "We will see that the guilty are brought to justice," the advocate said.
