At least seven people sustained injuries after a reactor blast took place in a company in Nalgonda district of Telangana earlier in the day. According to reports, the injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and one person is said to be in critical condition. Speaking about the incident with news agency ANI, Superintendent of Police, Nalgonda, Rema Rajeshwari said that a case will be registered and investigation is underway.
All those injured were workers of the company.
The blast and the fire created panic among the employees who ran out for safety. Panic also gripped the people living in residential areas near the plant. The incident took place at Hindys Lab in Veliminedu village of Chityala block. The blast led to a huge fire in the plant. Thick smoke engulfed the entire area.
Fire tenders rushed to the plant and were trying to control the flames.

In a similar incident, one person was killed and another injured in a chemical explosion in Hyderabad in June. Accoring to reports, the incident occurred in Gowliguda district when two people were allegedly dumping chemicals into a manhole.
The deceased was identified as Bharath Battad (32) and his father Gopal Battad (56) who got injured belonged to Mogurambasthi of Maharaj gunj area. Both had been engaged in trading of unsaturated polyester resin in the locality and worked with certain chemicals.
An ayewitness said that man and his father were dumping a chemical into the manhole as its validity had expired. They had added water to the can when suddenly, there was a blast, apparently due to some chemical reaction.
Police teams gathered clues from the scene. Samples of chemicals were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis.
