Drone sighting incidents have raised alarms in various districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

A drone-like object was spotted by locals in the Domana area of Jammu on Saturday night after 2 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles were seen in nearby region. Total three drone activities were witnessed on Saturday evening.

The first two drones were seen in Samba between 8 and 9 pm. The third UAV activity was witnessed at about 9.50 pm in Domana area of Jammu district.

Following the twin drone attacks in Jammu in June,  authorities in three more districts of Jammu and Kashmir banned the sale, storage, or possession of drones. The ban also extends to other unmanned aerial vehicles.

The ban has been put in place in three districts, namely, Baramulla, Samba and Ramban.

According to the order, the move will help to avoid any confusion in the current situation to secure aerial spaces near vital installations and highly populated areas.

“Any drone operating in the district needs to be registered. The owner of the drone and operator thereof shall be liable for all damages incurred, to person or property, due to mishandling or malfunctioning of drone or otherwise,” the order stated.
