Even those students who have cracked the coveted IIT-JEE Mains exam, one of the toughest entrance tests, failed to clear Class 12 examinations, raising doubts over the process of evaluation of copies.
In a bid solve the mystery of intermediate results of Bihar Board, which is hogging the limelight for all the wrong reasons, ABP News --in a sting operation-- found that answer sheets of Class 12 students were evaluated by primary and middle school teachers.
District education officer of Bihar's Gopalganj, Ashok Kumar, on camera admitted that teachers of primary schools have checked copies of Class 12 students.
He said those who are not even teaching were assigned the work of the evaluation of copies, orders for which came from higher authorities.
It was also revealed that dance teachers have checked copies of music, one of the subjects in Class 12.
Anurag Dubey, who holds TGT in dance, evaluated around 300 copies of music subject.
"I am pursuing MA in music and still attending classes," Dubey, who teaches music to students of Class 1 to 10 in a private school, said.
"I was told that answer-sheets will be provided to us. It was easy. Correct answers were given to us in a sheet. I was asked to evaluate copies based upon that," he said.
Dubey said he was told not to give 'zero' to students.
Another teacher, Bharat Sah, who teaches math is a middle school, evaluated copies of Class 12. Shah also claimed even Hindi teachers were assigned English copies.
Ajit Singh of Chavhi middle school claimed he was forced to check intermediate copies.
A whopping 64 per cent of students in Bihar have failed in this year's Class 12 examination.
Only 30.11 per cent of students passed the test in the Science stream. The results were dismal in the Arts stream too where a meager 37 per cent of the examinees could pass the test. In the Commerce stream, however, the pass percentage was 73.76.
Nearly 13 lakh students had appeared for the Plus-Two examination.
